Terms of Use

The terms for using the Scottish Esports website. Last updated: 28 September 2026.

About these terms

These terms apply when you use scotesports.org (the “website”). The website is run by Scotesports CIC, trading as Scottish Esports, a community interest company registered in Scotland (company number SC824614). Our registered office is 6 Primrose Place, Greenock, PA16 0DP.

By using the website, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use it.

These terms only cover this website. The Tournament Platform (play.scotesports.org), our Discord server and our newsletter each have their own terms, and our competitions are run under the General Competition Rules.

Using the website

You can use the website for free, without an account. Accounts are for Scottish Esports staff only, and we set them up ourselves.

When using the website, you must not:

  • break the law, or help anyone else to
  • try to get into parts of the website you are not allowed to, or interfere with how it works or its security
  • upload or send viruses or other harmful code
  • copy large amounts of content by automated means, such as scraping
  • pretend to be Scottish Esports, or suggest we endorse you when we don’t

Our content and brand

The content on this website, including text, images, graphics and our logo, belongs to Scottish Esports or the people who have given us permission to use it.

You are welcome to share links to our pages and quote short extracts with credit to Scottish Esports. Journalists and organisations can use our logo and description as set out in our brand kit, which you can request from press@scotesports.org. For any other use, please ask us first.

Game titles, logos and artwork belong to their publishers. We don’t claim ownership of any video game.

Our events

Registering for one of our events is free. When you register or attend:

  • everyone follows our Code of Conduct, and we may refuse entry to, or ask to leave, anyone who doesn’t
  • some events have an age limit, usually because of the venue’s licence. We will say so on the event page.
  • we may need to change or cancel an event. If we do, we will tell registered attendees as soon as we can.
  • we may take photos and video. Our Privacy Policy explains how we use them and how to opt out.

Events run by other organisers

We sometimes share events that other organisers have sent us. We check them before publishing, but the organiser is responsible for their event, including tickets, refunds, safety and accuracy. Any arrangement you make is with them, not with us.

If you send us an event to share, you confirm that the details are accurate and that you are allowed to share them. We may edit, decline or remove any listing, and we may keep event details in our archive of Scottish esports activity.

Links to other websites

The website links to other sites, such as the Tournament Platform, Discord, YouTube and our newsletter provider. We are not responsible for their content or how they handle your information.

Accuracy and availability

We work hard to keep the website accurate and up to date, but information can change, and it is provided for general guidance only. We may change, pause or remove any part of the website at any time.

Our responsibility to you

We are not responsible for any loss that was not foreseeable, or for business losses. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.

Privacy and cookies

Our Privacy Policy explains how we use personal information, and our Cookie Policy explains the cookies this website uses.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top shows when they last changed. Please check back occasionally.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of Scotland, and the Scottish courts deal with any disputes. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you can also bring a claim in the courts where you live.
