Scottish Esports, in collaboration with Official Sponsor HP, is proud to announce the Scottish Esports in Education Mini-Conference 2025 (SEEMC2025), hosted by New College Lanarkshire at their Motherwell Campus on Friday, 14th November 2025.
This year’s theme, “Localised Ecosystems”, will bring together educators, policymakers, youth work leaders, industry professionals, and community representatives to explore how sustainable, community-driven esports models can shape the future of education and gaming in Scotland.

SEEMC2025 aims to lay the groundwork of a national framework for esports and gaming in Scotland, highlighting how local partnerships can support national growth. The conference will showcase grassroots approaches that can be adapted across schools, colleges, communities and industry.
Keynote speaker Clare Adamson MSP, Co-Convener of the Scottish Parliament’s Cross Party Group on the Scottish Games Ecosystem, will address the role of esports in Scotland’s digital and educational future.
The agenda features leading examples from the North Lanarkshire region, including the innovative Minecraft MAYhem initiative by Callum Croughan and the North Lanarkshire Council team, and Y Esports, a youth work programme led by Emma Williamson of YMCA Wishaw, both of which have successfully used gaming and esports as a platform for learning and engagement.
Ensuring that this emerging framework prioritises safety and wellbeing, YGAM, the national charity for gaming and gambling awareness, will exhibit and deliver a workshop titled “Gaming & Esports Awareness Session.” This workshop will help attendees understand best practices for safeguarding young people in educational and community esports settings.
“SEEMC2025 marks the beginning of building the foundations of gaming and esports in Scotland,” said Mark McCready, CEO of Scottish Esports. “Focusing on localised ecosystems, we can move from isolated projects to an integrated national strategy. We’re building the blueprint and our conference is where we bring it all together.”
The full agenda and registration details are available at Eventbrite.
Attendance is free and open to all those interested in shaping the role of gaming and esports in all sectors for Scotland.
