Scottish Esports is inviting applications for a new Non-Executive Director (Education) to join our Board of Directors. This voluntary role offers an exciting opportunity to help shape the strategic direction of esports education across Scotland.

We are seeking a dedicated, UK-based individual with a background in education who is passionate about championing innovative learning pathways and supporting the development of esports as a recognised and inclusive educational opportunity.

About the Role

The Non-Executive Director (Education) will provide independent oversight, insight, and guidance to ensure that our educational initiatives align with our mission and our responsibilities as a community interest company. The role is central to helping us strengthen partnerships with schools, colleges, universities, and accreditation bodies.

This position is:

  • Voluntary and part-time, with an expected term of four (4) years

  • Expected to attend quarterly board meetings and AGM (virtual or hybrid)

  • Fully supported with induction and ongoing engagement

Location Requirement

This role is open to UK-based applicants only.

As a national body working closely with Scottish and UK educational frameworks, applicants must have a strong understanding of the UK education system and be able to participate in meetings during UK time zones.

Familiarity with organisations such as the Scottish Qualification AuthorityEducation ScotlandSkills Development Scotland, and the Curriculum for Excellence is particularly valuable.

Ideal Candidate Profile

We welcome applications from individuals with:

  • Experience in education, curriculum development, or education policy

  • A strong interest or experience in the development of esports in formal and informal learning settings

  • An understanding of governance or advisory responsibilities (board experience is welcomed but not essential)

  • A commitment to community values, inclusivity, and long-term educational impact
